ZipRecruiter vs. Indeed for PA Job Search

Recommendation for Finding a New PA Job

Where you look for a PA position is an important factor when looking for a new job. With multiple job sites out there, not all are the same. Employers use different sites to post openings, and if you’re not looking in the right spot, you might miss out. Two of the more popular job search sites are ZipRecruiter and Indeed.

For Employers

ZipRecruiter is powered by AI-driven smart matching technology, the company actively connects millions of all-sized businesses and job seekers through innovative mobile, web, and email services, as well as partnerships with the best job sites. Employers can create an account and post jobs. If they are actively recruiting, they can review the resume database and reach out to job seekers. Once a job is posted on ZipRecruiter, it is sent out to 100+ top job sites, and unlimited job-seekers can apply. The matching technology finds candidates and invites them to apply to a position. If a job is posted directly through ZipRecruiter an employer can add screening questions to help find the most qualified candidates. You can post your first job for FREE in minutes on ZipRecruiter.

Indeed functions like a search engine for job boards. The goal is to put job seekers first with free access to search jobs. Employers can post jobs directly on the site and can choose to get more visibility by sponsoring a job posting. Indeed also gives the option of searching through resumes so employers can reach out to potential candidates.

For Job Seekers

ZipRecruiter is the only site you’ll ever need to find your next job. It allows you to upload your resume so that you can be matched with potential employers. If an employer has posted a position directly on the site you can easily apply with a 1-click application. If the employer adds screening questions, you would be asked these before your application is submitted. ZipRecruiter has the #1 rated job search app on iOS and Android. The mobile app is a great feature that allows you to get notifications in the palm of your hand and the ability to apply for jobs through the app. One downside is that it can take some time to train the program so that you get better job matches.

Indeed includes the job listings from major job boards and employers can post jobs directly to the site as well. It allows job seekers to upload a resume as well as create job alert emails. This is similar to traditional job searches, where you look through job postings and apply to the ones that you are interested in. If you upload your resume, it allows recruiters to find you, but most likely will require a job seeker to find a position.

Summary of ZipRecruiter vs. Indeed

Both services can be used to find job postings; however, ZipRecruiter’s technology helps match employers and job seekers. It takes out some of the work needed to search for jobs as it will send potential matches to both employers and job seekers. It is not a perfect system by any means, but the more it is used and given feedback, the jobs that are sent become better matches.

If you’re in the market for a new job, it doesn’t hurt to have your resume listed in multiple locations, but it does get daunting to keep track of it all, so find one or two sites to focus on. Sometimes this is dependent on where employers in your area are posting jobs. If you find that employers are using one site over another, I would recommend staying updated on that site.
