PA Among the Top for 2018 Best Jobs

Physician Assistant Comes in at #3 for 2018 Best Jobs

U.S. News 100 best job list has Physician Assistant at #3overall and #2 for best health care jobs. The careers are ranked based on a calculated score from seven component measures – median salary, employment rate, 10-year growth volume, 10-year growth percentage, future job prospects, stress level and work-life balance. Basically, it comes down to what jobs are going to give you a good salary and allow you to stay employed.

Salary data for the report comes from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics. The highest paid PAs earned $142,210 and the median salary in 2016 was at $101,480.

As with other salary reports the U.S. News report shows California wins for highest salaries.  If you’re interested in moving to Yuba City, California the average salary for PAs was $149,740.

Beyond the salary a benefit to becoming a PA is job security. With the aging population and lack of access to primary care providers there is plenty of opportunity for PAs and it appears that this will continue to grow.

I think being a PA is a great career and it looks like I’m not the only one. Do you agree? Please comment below the original post, sign up to receive future posts by email and share with your friends!
