About PA-Cents

I graduated from PA school in 2011 with over $100,000 in student loans, the average for PA students. I started this blog for accountability in paying my student debt. I also want to help PAs, PA Students, pre-PA students, and other health care providers who are struggling with their finances. It is the original personal finance blog for PAs and has grown to be the top PA student personal finance blog.

I have talked to many students who are interested in pursuing an allied health profession, and one of the questions that always comes up is, “how much do you make?” The cost of education and potential salary should be considered, before deciding on investing in a future career.

Talking about money is often taboo, and in some forums, they don’t allow you to comment about salary information. I hope that through this website, I can help others who are interested in becoming or are a Physician Assistant, Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, or other Health Care Provider understand the finances of what it takes to get through school and what it looks like after graduation. Also, I want to create an open forum where the salary and other financial aspects can be discussed and shared.
